my april 2004 scores are still showing on amcas and aacomas. i guess i am just confused since the 2007 application cycle was the last cycle that these scores could be used for and i had been assuming that they would no longer show up this application cycle since they are no longer valid. anyone know anything about when they "phase out"??

huh....i guess i was wrong in the assumption that they would disappear when they coudl no longer be used for admission.
thanks for your help 🙂
Nope. My old scores from 1996 showed up when I applied a decade later. It's worse than a bankruptcy; old MCAT scores NEVER go away. 😉

So do schools even look at those scores? They say that the the scores should be not more than 2 years old to be considered. I am in similar situation. My first MCAT was taken 5 years ago, so will it be taken into an account when calculating my average MCAT?

i dont think the MCAT is averaged at all. the school will take the most recent score and use that in their decision.

Ask the schools to be sure, but I think that really old scores will not be taken into consideration by most of them.
