when does med school start?

i know there is variation amongst schools, but from what you guys know- when do certain schools start. thanks-

most of mine start the 3rd week of august... except for penn, which is earlier in august -- maybe the 2nd week or so...

for first years, there is usually a week-long orientation before classes start...for me, orientation is aug 4th...classes start aug 11th.

Don't second years start earlier than first years? Or are they usually the same within 1 school?

MS-I orientation starts August 20 at SUNY Upstate. Oooh, can't wait!

Most medical schools start sometime in August, although there is variation as to the actual date. A minority start some time in July. The MSAR does not give individual dates. I assume, but I don't know, that if you are accepted at a school it may tell you of the specific starting date. If all else fails, there are always the telephone or e-mail if you want to ask. Check out web-sites.

Actually..M2s start at least 1 wk after M1s. This staggering helps admission people settle in the wide-eyed newbies before the jaded vets return!😀 Also.. M2s get recruited to help in orientation etc..🙂

😱 U.C. Davis doesn't begin orientation until September 15, classes start September 22!

BU's orientation doesn't start until September 2nd. I will sure enjoy my summer. But, I kinda wish I could start earlier 🙄

White Coat Ceremony -- June 29

Registration -- June 30

Classes begin -- July 7
