When does Tufts start interviewing those of us with AVERAGE stats?

By average I mean 17's/18's DAT and 3.2-3.4 GPA's? I heard from some Tufts DS1's and DS2's that Tufts usually invites the "average" applicants second semester for interviews because by then the highly qualified applicants have decided to go to a lesser expensive school. Can anyone give me some feedback? Thanks.

NISMO brings up a good point, I wonder if all the schools are like that, interviewing second semester is for the avg joe. any 1st years that can elaborate on this.

I hear that. I also have average stats and have only received one interview from BU which is not till March. I would atleast like to hear back something, know what I mean?

I have pretty average stats (GPA is lower now after AADSAS), and I interviewed at Tufts in early November. I don't really know how they're picking people for interviews...

I submitted my app. on July 12th. I paid my secondary fee awhile ago. I have avg. stats. (17 AA/ 19 PAT) with a 3.45 overall and 2.1 science GPA. On top of all that I did research this past summer at Tufts Univ. Sackler School....but even after all that...nothing. 🙁

Well actually, they gave me an interview invite before I took my DAT again and I had a 16AA the first time, although by the time I went to the interview, I had taken it for a second time. So who knows how they pick people.

I have no clue how they pick people for interviews. For example I got an interview there without my DAT scores. My DAT scores didn't show up there until November 30th and I was accepted later that week. Funny huh. I didn't know schools did that.

Exact same thing happened to me. For some reason they didn't have my DAT scores but I still interviewed there. I sent them a copy of my scores and I got an acceptance from them on 12/3.

Well, if USC, UOP, or Columbia don't come through I'll be packing my bags and buying a one way ticket to Boston.

I am REALLY thinking about going there. I liked that school way better than Detroit, the only thing holding me back is the cost. I'll decide soon.

Well, they sent me an interview invite today and offered up a whole bunch of dates in the middle of January. I think my stats are above average for them, but probably my clinical experience is below average (and I get the impression Tufts cares a whole lot about it)...all combine to make me an average applicant for their school.

Check your email...that's how I found out that I'd been invited.

ummm I guess I stand corrected. I think I didn't get interviews at some schools because I had some major issues with my recommendations. I wasn't able to send out my second science professor one until about November 16. When I was interviewing at Tufts, they said they hadn't received ANY of them (I think they were just buried somewhere in admissions), so I had to have AADSAS resend them, which took until November 20-something. I completed my file pretty late at some schools, despite applying in July.
