I'm going to buy myself a nice laptop, probably one of those new Apple laptops that can run Windows, a new digital camera, and and iPod (yea, I'm one of the few people in the world who doesn't have one yet).

How about the rest of you?

That's hilarious  I bought a MacBook, Ipod Nano and digital camera this summer!

You just spent a lot of money applying and are going to take on $100,000 in debt over 4 yrs, yet you are going to spend more money. I am no financial guru but something doesn't add up...

I'm writing this post on one, I tell you it's the greatest. Did all my physics and a good propotion of my computer science problem sets on OneNote. The greatest thing ever.

i'm getting a tattoo and a doctor kit for my two year old son. and sushi. i havent decided yet what i'll get myself if I don't get in 😕 a big pie maybe

ETA: the tattoo is for me, not my son

Get a bottle of champagne for each person that has been with me through the whole process and celebrate together! I'll also probably get a few people a really nice present to thank them. Then I'll freak out when I try to figure out how I'm going to manage actually going!

Going down to the vegas strip and party like a rockstar for a week!😎

I am going to hike the Appalachian Trail, beginning March 1. I hope I get in before then!

a chihuahua, a tatoo (around the bicep), and a bottle of cristal

quitting my job and traveling until the day before orientation

A trip. Either Europe or South America. But I know I'll be gone for at least 2 months. All I need to do is get in.

when i get in im going to smoke this cigar that ive been saving for 2 yers.

except its falling apart...

I'm afraid I did nothing to celebrate getting in last year. I wanted to, real life just took over.... (working different schedule than husband, kids, buying a different house, selling our old house, etc)

Wait to buy a PC laptop until next year when Windows Vista will be out. That's my .02.

Have a bottle of Dom me and the wife have been saving for a special occasion.

I too plan on buying a laptop, but as much as I like Mac's I'm sure that it will be a PC. I just can't justify spending on a Mac what I could spend on a PC and get so much more of everything; more memory, better processor, faster graphics card, etc. If I had money to burn I'd probably buy both.

I told myself I wouldn't cut my hair until I got an interview. It got very long (by my standards), and was up to about 4-5 inches in length. I couldn't keep going to work with that look (had to wear a baseball cap everyday) and my mom kept saying I looked like a girl in trying to convince me to cut my hair. It worked. I finally cut my hair on a Thursday afternoon. The next day, I received an invite! I'm starting a new ritual, but this time for anacceptance. Since I have to look presentable for possible interviews, I can't do anything related to physical appearance (like hair). Anyway, whatever I think of, it'll be the very first thing I'll be doing once I get accepted.

But in terms of splurging on myself, I would get myself a new mp3 player, something other than the iPOD...probably from Creative.

Burn my four MCAT review books and my many practice exams in the backyard, then dance around them in a circle while waving the acceptance letter in one hand and a victory torch in the other.

😴

Or you could make money off your MCAT books by giving it to another poor premed who's willing to pay for them to a certain extent and then buy something with the cash returns. 😀

I'm going to buy a digital SLR with a CCD the size of Mars and a new SMALL phone THAT I CAN JUST TALK ON. (my current one's really huge). NO I DON'T WANT TO CHECK EMAIL!!!

a little off topic....but when (i really dont want to say if) finish medical school and residency i would like establish a scholaship fund at least at my undergrad institution (Western Washington University, yeah...any body ever heard of it?? Students interested in going to medical school (or maybe other health professional school, dent, pharm, ect) can apply...and it would go towards tution ect..so they can save money for those greedy people known as AMCAS. 😡

Why are you such a Debbie Downer?

I'm going to upgrade my honeymoon suite from the deluxe room to the Luxury Room...even though I'm already overbudget😛

Thanks to everyone who's been entertaining me with stuff you're going to do once you get in. For those of you who are pessimists talking about student loans and how much medical school will cost...relax, live a little, and supersize your value meal.

I'll start figuring out how i'm going to pay... hahaha
