When is a good time to leave the country during app cycle?

I'd like to do one of the Dental Bridges dental mission trips at the beginning of January next year (Jan 4-13, 2013). I applied relatively early (?); I was in the third batch. Is it foolish of me to plan a trip in case I might have an interview back in the states during this time? Has anyone else traveled out of the country before they knew where the would get accepted into dental school?

Since the Brigades is only a week, I don't think it will be too much of a problem. I'm sure the schools will offer you an alternative interview date if it happens to coincide with your trip.
Also, since you were in the 3rd batch, your interviews will most likely all be in the Fall.
