What does that mean? If you are even slightly interested in another field you should go do that. You are facing a mountain to climb, with no guarantees that it will work out.I have one more year left of college as neuro major, I have the most abysmal amcas GPAs( sgpa: 2.01, othergpa: 3.01, cgpa: 2.39). I am taking the mcat in ~2 weeks not sure how I will do. I will most likely not have good LOR from professors, but my research letters will definitely be very good (probably the only thing in my application that is somewhat okay). My EC's consist of work, research, and nursing home volunteer (in that order of time/importance). Am I out of my mind for even thinking of applying to SMPs or masters programs? Do people ever have a change of interests and apply to PhD programs after SMPs?
Thank you for reading.
Do whatever you need to do to get over a 3.0. Whether or not you need to do an SMP after that depends on:
1.) Your GPA post-redemption
2.) Your MCAT
3.) Your openness to DO (don't even think about saying you're too good for this)

Yes, I recommend you pursue your interests. You will still have to repair your GPA. I have no idea what that kind of graduate level work entails. Best of luckI am definitely open to DO, I just used a DO gpa excel sheet and got sGPA: 2.599 and cGPA: 2.854. Options there any better? I am interested in neuroscience research would you recommend masters programs and drop md/do?
