When is it appropriate to start sending ITAs?

Is it frowned upon to send ITA requests this early in the cycle, particularly if the school has not started sending out IIs yet? On the one hand, I know that this school welcomes ITAs, and I figure there's no harm in them having one on file. That said, I don't want to come off as presumptuous, and since I was complete relatively early, it might not make much of a difference anyway (since it's likely that my app will be reviewed by the time they start sending out IIs). Any thoughts?

Imo, the in the area request date that matters isnt when you request it, its when you'll be in the area. If you have another interview in NYC in mid-September, if you send in ITA now to a couple schools in NYC, even if arent sending out interviews, it'll be added to your file. Always remember that ITA are NOT about getting interviews because its "convenient" for the school, but rather to save costs. I've already sent an ITA and it was positively received.

In the area, it means emailing other schools nearby one where you’ve been invited for an interview, letting them know that you’ll be in the area on X date, and you’d appreciate being interviewed around that time IF they plan on interviewing you at all to save on travel costs.
