Dear SDN Community,

I just finished up my freshman year and am a bit overwhelmed by the vastness of my summer vacation. Yes, I am making good use of my time by doing research, shadowing, and volunteering, but I feel I could throw in some MCAT Prep in there as well. I plan to take the MCAT next summer. As of now, I have completed Gen. Chem and Intro Bio. Would you advise me to begin some minor MCAT prep now? Or not waste my time and materials. Thanks for all of your help.

In my opinion, 2 years and before you take organic, gen chem and gen bio. Most people study while in physics since it's usually taken during jr year (the time when most people take the MCATs). and are you taking organic and physics at the same time ?

Your GPA is very important, so focus on your classes first. If you must, you could get Examkrackers MCAT materials as these are more concise for when you feel bored and just want to browse around.

However, the best you can do for medical school admissions is acing your classes at this point.
