Hi, all.
I am finishing my Master's this summer and planning to take DAT at the end of September. Do you think it will be too late for the 2009 applying cycle? If not, will I be in a very disadvantaged position?
Thank you. Good luck to everyone!

It's somewhat late. You might not be able to make it to first around interviews.

Yes taking the DAT September puts you at a disadvantage. If you can try to push it up to early August it would be alot better.

will taking dat on june 30 or 23 make any difference?

Any time in June is good. I took min in early August, and as a result had second round interviews, and second round acceptances.

early july ok as well, or only up to the end of june?

what about July 19th?
I'm taking it on that day.

Anyone taking in Mid July got first round interview invitation?

good question, i would like to know as well. I am also taking on this day.

took the DATafter finishing my masters in the first week of september and I feel that it did ut me at a disadvantage. I probably would have gotten more interviews/acceptances if I had not waited so long. That said I still got in.

i remember someone saying that it takes 3-5 weeks for dat scores to be sent. is that true? I talked to Mr. Mackenzie at UCSF admissions, and he said that they are getting the scores online this time. Was it ever "PAPER" form? $25/school is ridiculous.

I believe all schools have access to scores online if you designate your schools and they opt to use them. The schools will use your online scores for application processing but still require the official score sheet on paper.

The average for last cycle seemed to be 2 weeks. The ADA gives a range like you mention to give themselves some leeway.

Jigabodo got Jigaboo'd again!

Where have you been man?

what about if you reapply and retake the DAT in early sept...and submit application early june with old dat scores and note that the dat will be retaken....?

So would you guys say that taking the DAT's late august is a bit risky? ahhh!!! applications are so stressful...

I would not advise it. If you have a good app, you will still get some interviews and acceptances, but there probably could have been more opportunities if things were competed earlier.
