When should i apply

Hi all,
I am not from the US but i want to apply to US medical schools. I will get my master in May 2003 when should i start to apply.

Hello, you should probably start the process with the next admissions cycle (June 2002) so that you can start school in August 2003, right after you get your masters. The medical school application process takes up to a year. The original application (centralized service- also called the primary) can be submitted June 1st, and then as schools receive this application they will evaluate it and send you secondary applications to fill out and return (this can happen as early as the end of July). Then the evaluate your entire file (letters of rec and both applications) and decide whether they would like to interview you. Interviews typically take place from September to May of the following year. This is a basic cycle. There is more info on the AAMC and AOA websites.
