How do YOU choose when to apply the following 2 test taking tips?

1. If two answer choices are essentially the same, they must both be wrong. Rational is because the test cannot have 2 correct answer choices.

2. If two or more answer choices are essentially the same, pick the BEST answer. MCAT may offer 2 true answers, but one will be superior to the other.

3. If 2 answers are essentially the same, then you missed something.

All are right at one point or another, but I would go with 3 by default.

Standardized testing is about selecting the "best" answer, not the "correct" or "right" answer. In some cases, there will be 2 answers that are arguably correct, but one will be the credited answer for a certain reason. If you narrow things down to 2 choices, my advice is: don't spend forever arguing with yourself about the answers. You have a 50/50 shot, take a stab at it and move on. There will likely be later questions you'll need that time on (especially in Verbal, and possibly in Physics with the more advanced stuff)
