The school I plan on attending accepts year round. I'll be done with all my required pre-reqs in Fall 2009. I'm REALLY HOPING to start attending in Spring 2010. When should I take the PCAT? When should I apply to pharmacy school?

If you are applying to gain entrance for Fall 2010 and will be done with all pre-reqs Fall '09, I would take the October 2009 PCAT and apply to this year 'round acceptance school as soon as your final grades are in. That way if you don't do well on the Oct PCAT you can retake it in January.

What is the school that accepts year round? I haven't heard of that.

Ultimately, a huge key to getting into any rolling admission school is being one of the first to apply. Your chances of getting in are soooo much better if you apply asap.

Ok, so it's SWOSU. I'm pretty sure that's where one of the pharmacists I work with on occasion went to school, although he graduated over 20 years ago. I'll have to double check with him.

I would suggest thinking about taking the PCAT at the next available date (June) assuming that you have gone through at least O-chem I. That way if you don't do as well as expected you could take the October exam and have it sent to the school by the time they are making decisions for entrance in the spring semester.
