I'm so confused about when to pay the PTCAS application fee. It says I should pay it after submit the application. So I need to get every steps of the application done first??🙁

Make sure to read all the PTCAS guidelines as there's a lot of fine print and can be confusing. You submit your app when it is completed and you've double checked it. It's okay if your LORs aren't all received, but you need to have their contact info listed and PTCAS emails or letters sent to them. After it's submitted, then you pay, and you can add extra schools any time as long as it's before the deadline and pay for those later on as well.

I can take GRE after e-submit and pay for application fee, right???

Yeah dude. Just make sure you have evrything in there that is in progress. After you e-submit you cant change anything on it....ever. The only thing you can change is your coursework and transcripts during the academic update which are listed on PTCAS (dates). My PTCAS application is ready to be sent...but im waiting for about until mid august to submit mine. I just want to make sure I have evrything in there, observation hours verified. I am waiting to put my BLS/CPR information on there, Im taking the class on Monday.

One thing I still get confused is: right now, before I e-submit the application and pay for the fee, I can begin to mail my material to PTCAS? Such as the transcript and references??

Transcripts and references should be submitted before you pay and submit.

Should I submit a completed PTCAS to schools before their deadlines in case of supplemental questions and materials they might need? How long does that normally take for a school? For example if a school's deadline is Nov 1, when should I submit PTCAS in order to complete supplemental info? Thanks!😀

The earlier the better. I just paid for mine today and while I was paying for it all the disclaimers were saying that it could take as long as 6 weeks for them to mail the applications out to your programs.

So yeah, I just sent mine in today, and will probably start sending my GRE scores next week because that takes about 2 weeks also. The supplemental applications, and fees, im probably doing those next week also.

Now, are you talking about supplemental materials and fees or are you talking about the supplemental information they ask???? Because if they have supplemental essays for you to fill out, you can fill them out now. Choose designated programs and there should be a link that says XX university has supplemetal information, and you can fill those in now, you dont have to pay then fill those out.

^when you mean 'send them in' to you mean, input the info on your already submitted PTCAS? Or snail mail it? Or does PTCAS have a course code # to send it to?

Well, I submitted the PTCAS with my self reported GRE scores already filled in.

Then I will log into my GRE account and have them send it (however they send it; maybe snail mail or electronically)

Then I will send my supplemental applications and fees (not supplemental questions as those are filled in on PTCAS) through snail mail.

I just wrapped up my PTCAS app. still have to pay though.

FOr the GRE, if i'm not mistaken, you don't send it to PTCAS, but each school that requires it. They list a GRE code on their program site (via PTCAS) and you submit the GRE scores from ETS for each school that needs it.

The PTCAS instructions say:

"You must submit your PTCAS application on or before the earliest firm or close deadline set by your designated program(s). Review the time zone list below to determine when the PTCAS application will close in your area:
• 11:59 PM (EST)
• 10:59 PM (CST)
• 9:59 PM (MST)
• 8:59 PM (PST)
• 7:59 PM (AKST)
• 6:59 PM (HST)"

So if you want to get your application in by the priority deadline of 1 October, the latest you can submit it is 30 September by whatever designated time is in your time zone. The earliest firm deadline for me, for instance, is 1 October which also happens to be the priority deadline for a couple of my schools. However it never hurts to submit the PTCAS application earlier on.

Send your transcripts and GRE to each individual school, and send your letters of recommendation based on what each school requests.
