When to send transcripts

Is there a "Opening" date that you cannot send your transcripts before? I am sure that I am not the only one wondering if it is ever too soon to have transcripts sent to the AAMC and AMCAS.

The story is, I transfered, so I could request them today, but without having my application submitted yet, do I need to wait?

You do NOT need to submit before you get your transcripts in. In fact, it's ideal if all your transcripts are in before you submit, so that they can start verifying your coursework right away when you finally do hit the button.

Yep... so you should wait till spring grades are out to request your transcript from your undergrad... but if you need any other ones (community colleges, tansfer credits, etc.) then ask for those asap.

sorry to bump this way old thread. im on the quarter system, and spring quarter ends june 9th. my school probably wont get my transcript out till the end of june.. what do i do?

I'd wait. Early July is still pretty early to submit.

Is your pre-med adviser any good? They must have dealt with this in the past and will probably have good advice... Even if transcripts are ready end of June, I don't know what turn-around time is like for your school to actually send them out, etc.
