When to send update letter?

Hey guys, just wondering when I should send one. I am applying to MD PhD programs and have recently started shadowing (had no clinical experience before). I will finish shadowing in about 2 weeks, but I am nervous that if I wait to update, I will be rejected by my top choice school in the meantime, where I have been complete for over a month. (already rejected from a couple schools)

If I had no clinical experience, I would have sent my update letter the day I finalized the dates I was going to shadow, not wait until I finished.

I'd personally send it tomorrow morning.
