Did poorly on Step 1. Took Step 2 CK at the end of July. I'm confident I did much better on Step 2. I'm anticipating my scores in ~5 weeks or so based on what I've heard from other people's experiences, which would put me at early to mid september.

My LOR will be in before the end of August. Personal statement and the rest of ERAS is basically done as well. I go to an allopathic american med school.

Should I wait for my Step 2 CK score to officially come out before submitting? Would waiting until mid September at the latest (hopefully) put me behind the ball for my application? I just want to make sure that programs are able to see that I did well and have been trending upward.

Thanks.

Wait for your Step 2 score. Sept is fine for US grads.

I am not taking Step 2 until October. If I submit my application in September, will programs hold my application and offer an interview after they get my Step 2 score? I am also an American Medical Senior.

Many, many programs/fields do not require Step 2 for interview or ranking decisions. If your Step 1 and grades are fine, you are likely to receive interviews before your Step 2 result.
