Basically, got 5 days to study till the exam. Just took
- the online Kaplan USMLE Step 1 QReview Simulated Exam - 73%,
- last week took the Kaplan CD simulated - 78%,
- and the released items - 92%
went through the Kaplan review books a couple times, did the QBank, but after somebody else, so lots of repeats, basically statistics there of no value, also did
- the NMS at the beginning like 75% (what a ****, like the same score, more than a month ago, but I think those were easier).

Anyway, I'm flustered now about the 73% . I would just like to know where I'm standing, and what do you guys think i should expect from the USMLE 1? (Am I screwed to think of a top score) Anybody has similar results, with final scores from the actual exam. If you do, I'll really appreciate them... What do you do with 5 days? Thanks a lot.

Sounds like you have been thorough. 73% sounds fine. A friend was getting around 60% on qbank and still scored 250.

you should take a shot of tequila.

Tequila would help calm you down. No need to freak out (PS- that's why I stopped doing questions a week before Step 1).

Most people, I spoke to, who got a low 70s on the Kaplan practice exam, still got above a 230.

1. Tequila or your favorite liquor.
2. First Aid when you're chilled. Know Pharm.
3. Plenty of sleep.
4. Good luck!!! With your stats, you could pull in a 270 -- who knows?!?!?

Thanks guys... it helped a lot. Just trying to look over a couple more things... and God help me on that day...

I don't know much about this, but I wish you the best of luck. :luck:

Wow, what a techincally useless, but emotionally supportive post. Azzy, I nominate you to be the official cheerleader/motivator of the class of '07s board run! 😉

Rom,

Have you done the NBME online exams? You can trash your other scores in terms of statistical predictive value if you take those exams (or even one). For MOST people, they correlate very, very closely. This is the best way to predict your score.

Do you consider your own post technically useful AND emotionally supportive to Rom? 😉 I think wishing someone good luck is better than just reading the post and not saying anything. 😀 I really hope he/she does great!

My post was independent of the original poster's, I was just pointing out that you have a tendency to wish people well, but offer no real advice. And this is by no means bad, as we may not yet be in the position to offer advice on a given subject, so why not be supportive?
Take what I said as a compliment l'il guy, all I meant was that what you said wasn't directly helpful, but was reassuring nonetheless.

It's like when your Mom says you're "handsome." It doesn't mean a whole but, but it sure is nice to hear, right? 😉
