I've been to both DOs and MDs and I've had good and bad experiences with them. If your a shi**y doctor your a shi**y doctor doesn't matter what letters are behind your name.

There was a kid I went to college with, he didn't really dislike DOs, but wouldn't become one. It was because (and he is probably right) when you are around MD schools' hospitals no one will really understand what a DO is. And he didn't want to have that to deal with. So I don't think there are people who actually hate DOs, just those who are misinformed.
