Where can we find summer internship opportunities?

I am a P2 in San Antonio, TX and am trying to look for a summer internship for 2013. I have already interviewed for one, but it is a retail position and I would really like to experience the hospital pharmacy this summer.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look for summer hospital pharmacy internships?

Paid internships? That's gonna be tough if you only want to work the summer. If I'm hiring someone, I'd want them to be available year round.

Honestly I am open for an all-year long internship. I currently am employed with a retail pharmacy, but I only work once a month (which is good and bad).
I would love to have the opportunity to work in the hospital and learn more about it before jumping into a clinical career choice, which I am leaning towards! It would just depend on how often the hospital would need me to work. But, I am not resricted to only over the summer.

I am just having a problem locating intern positions through the hospitals. I am not sure if I am looking in the wrong place, or if I need to personally contact the Pharmacy Managers and speak with them. All I see is information on residencies or technician positions.

It's a good thing you have retail work experience.

I suggest contacting your local hospital pharmacy directors and ask if they are hiring interns. If not, you can ask when the director will be hiring again.

Most hospital pharmacy directors hire around Feb. to May in anticipation of losing their 4th year or graduating interns. Good Luck!
