Destroyer Bio # 122 says in the anther. Wikipedia says in the stamen. Anyone know which is correct?

the stamen refers to the whole male part of the flower. Included in that is the anther, where the pollen is produced, and the filament. hope that helps!

I think one is a part of the other...basically same thing.
anther is producing part I think...the rest of the stamen is the stalk which does nothing I think.

the stamen is the male reproductive organ in a plant.
it is made of the filament and anther.
the anther produces pollen, which when they hit the stigma of the female reproductive organ do something funky and split into more sperm or something. Now there are two sperm that go down the pistol towards the ovule.

Question:
one sperm will fertilize the polar body and result in the -->
another sperm will fertilize the ovary and result in the -->

one sperm will fertilize the polar body and result in the --> 3N cell that divides to become the endosperm
another sperm will fertilize the ovary and result in the --> zygote that divides into the embryo.

Unlike most of my peers, I really really enjoyed plant bio.
