Goro is referring to being complete in Dec.-Jan., not starting the application process. Also his advice only applies to those that are somewhat competitive to extremely competitive. It doesn't apply to non-competive applications. Your current GPA barely meets the cutoffs for most schools. This means not only do you need a good MCAT to have a fair shot, but you have to apply far earlier than December.

I highly recommend not going this route, and applying instead for the following cycle with an earlier application.
