Ok so there are a bunch of these posts but Im applying for the third time and I want it to be the last. (made the mistake of applying mainly to one tough school, Iowa, first two times).

Anyway here are my statistics:

cGPA: 3.49
sGPA: 3.38

DAT: AA 19 TS 18 PA 19

I have 150+ hours of shadowing, played lacrosse for four years, held social chair position in a social fraterntiy, volunteered for the March of Dimes since high school and volunteered through the fraternity and lacrosse club, and went on a foreign term.

Also have six months of non-dental research with two publications co-authored.

LORs are all strong, one from my dentist, two from science professors, one from the doctor who headed the lab.

Any recommendations on what schools to apply to would be great, right now I have:
Louisville
Marquette
Creighton
Iowa (resident)
Midwestern (IL and AZ)
Nova
Tufts

Cheers

Wait, you ONLY applied to Iowa the last two cycles?😱

Yeah I was told that I was a very strong applicant both times, plus there are usually a 50% acceptance rate for residents, but regret it now, also my research is for the Univeristy of Iowa

Oh I see. Well I don't blame you especially if you wanted to live close to home. Watch, I'll bet you a $100 now that you're applying to other schools, U of Iowa will accept you. That would be really cool/funny at the same time.

I found the Sticky at the top of the Dental Forum to be very helpful. The title is "What schools should I apply to" and it focuses a lot on schools that accept a high(er) proportion of OSS (out of state students). Check it out --> http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=635046
