I have heard/read that it is a good idea to give LOR writers (especially those that know me only in one context) a CV or resume. Neither google nor a search of the SDN forums has turned up anything particularly useful for premeds specifically.

If you could, fellow SDNers, please help me find resources for constructing a premed CV. Examples would also be helpful. Especially examples from other non-trads. Thanks!

go to word; there are templates for CVs...just go to file then new...and pick the one you like best

its hella easy

Try "How to Prepare Your Curriculum Vitae," by Acy L. Jackson.

I needed to write a CV for one of my secondary applications, and I purchased this book upon the recommendation of a friend. It is a complete book and has a lot of brainstroming exercises and formats that will help you generate a really good CV.

No need for books. Just fill out an AMCAS and print it out. That way you can explain that your LOR professors see your scholastic data in the exact same format and breadth of scope as will the med school admissions.

If your school has a career center, it usually has handouts on "how to write a resume" for free. No need to spend $$$ on a book. Resume for us students is fairly simple to write.

I included stuff in mine like EC's and junk like that. After all, curriculum vitae does mean, "course of life". Mine may not be orthodox, but it gets the job done.

i just gave my professors my personal statement seeing how most of them usually ask for that. no need for a cv.

If anyone could provide me with a link to an actual aspiring med student's resume, that would be helpful. I started working on mine but I am so confused about where to put what and whether I should mention everything that I ever did in my life that has something to do with med. How should I emphasize my strongest experiences blah blah? Also how are you supposed to present your shadowing and other volunteer experiences. Do you mention the hours worked?
