Okay so I have been studying for the DAT and my exam is next Thursday...

BC scores have been all over the place.
BIO: 16-23
GC: 18-26
OC: 19-26
PAT: 19-21
RC: 20-22
QR: 16-20

This test has me on the ropes. I have been busting my butt, working full time, taking classes and studying. THIS close to a meltdown. Decided to take the 2007 DAT today (BIO/GC/OC) to see where I stand.

BIO: 19-20 (can't tell, column is messed up in converter, I missed 6); let's say 19.
GC: 23 (28/30)
OC: 28 (29/30)

Are these scores representative of what i can expect?

Honestly I am aiming for a 19 in BIO, 22+ in GC/OC, 22+ in PAT, 22+ in RC, 18 QR.

I am not asking for much here. Not amazing scores but playing to my strengths. I am not great at biology just because I do not enjoy it. It is boring. I have gone through BC and barron's and cliffs.

Over the next 5 days I need to get everything clear so i can score where I need to. This is my plan, any input on what I should be doing these last few days?

BIO: I just want a 19 or 20. I would be happy with that. Will probably read through Ferallis one time before my exam. Try to understand a few things I am unclear on and be done with it

GC/OC: Go through my notes and do more practice. I want to bring my TS up here. Maybe even watch Chad's again.

PAT: Practice daily.

QR: Go through destroyer math one more time. Get mt 18 and call it a day.

RC: Mehh, easy.

2009 DAT will be taken 2 days before my exam. I am over this. I am drained mentally. Seriously about to fall asleep just sitting here studying. :bang:

My stats are: 3.7 oGPA, 3.75 sGPA, tons of volunteer hours, good LOR's. I want this so bad and am so nervous about this exam.

Please help. Anyone.

You're fine dude! Make sure you know how to do all the problems you got wrong in BC! Your BC range is also similar to mine and I'm assuming that your lowest BC scores were your first? I scored similar to you on the 2007 and it isn't a great indicator for how well you might do. My advice: don't frett too much about the predicted scores. Do the best you can and and enter the test with a clear mind. Good luck!

Yes scores have gone up and taking them the second time through they were all around 25 or so.

Just the vast amount of stuff in bio is frightening. Not a lot of room for error in the sciences. After BC did the actual questions seem "basic" on the real thing? I have 5 more days. I found Chad's new website has 400+ GC and 400+ OC problems so I plan on doing all of those along and go through my notes again.

Just feel overwhelmed at this point. Did you take the 2009?

Sounds like a mirror of my boot camp experience. I'm confident that you'll do great knowing all of the concepts presented in DBC.

There is a lot of bio, but luckily most of it is not all that in depth. Feralis covers most of what you need to know and I studied mostly from Cliffs AP bio book. If you did destoyer bio you are in pretty good shape also. Some of the questions on my actual seemed VERY BASIC. There can be some weird questions but majority are big idea questions. There is only so much you could practically know and bio was my lowest score. Chad has new GC and OC questions?! thats awesome! I cant vouch for them, but his old gc/oc questions were pretty helpful. Sounds like a solid plan

I felt like that prior to my test also and felt like there just wasn't enough hours in the day. My last week I just redid a lot of questions I had gotten wrong before and already kind of knew to build up my confidence. I did not take the 2009 in fear that it would ruin my confidence hahaha

I'm excited to see your breakdown! Keep at it!

If you can grab the Kaplan DAT bio flash cards from a friend who took the course and work your way through that deck.

Take the 2009 exam 2 days prior to your real DAT. It is by far the most representative of any resource (except QR, it's insane on the 2009).

Awesome guys thank you so much!

So just took the 2009 ADA GC and got a 29!!! Only missed one problem and it was a silly mistake.

About to take OC now. Bio I need more review.

BIO is where I need work.. I will review GC and OC up until my test (4 days) as to ensure a high score but would i be better off...

A) Just keep pounding BIO notes and retain as much info as possible

or

B) Do as many destroyer BIO questions as possible in that time? I have the book but only did the first 80 or so questions as they seemed somewhat overkill at the time.

You should aim for higher goal. Skim through AP Biology cliffnotes or Barron's and cover your weak areas with Chad's video.

Most students I know, including myself, took last week off before exam, helped for them and me.

Know DAT Destroyer Bio questions and detailed answers, I spent most of my time the last week of studying doing this and it payed off big for me, ended up with a 23 in bio.

Idk man he has a ton of questions if you go under "quizzes" then "DAT/OAT"

It's a ton of question that I never saw in the ones right after the videos. Plus practice DAT's for GC and OC

Can someone confirm whether all those videos from the new website are the same ones people have used to prepare for the DAT? I also don't see the corresponding quizzes either :/

They are not the same as his DAT videos, but they are pretty close in terms of contents.

Hmmm, good to know! Might as well buy them anyways to get the associated quizzes, right? Or is it possible to buy the quizzes separately? I assume the DAT Coursaver bundle includes QR strategies too, so were those free before, or are they included in the cost? I know the biology ones were free.

The QR was never free. I think the quizzes come with bundle but you have the option of getting them separately too.

The big difference between the "College" and "DAT" series is 5 extra hours of material. Also since they were made for college classes rather than the DAT, you don't get the tips for estimating things without calculators, or emphasizing things that will likely show up on your exam.

Lmao I thought this was your post originally

Lol, nope. Kinda sorta seized the thread for a hot second 🙄

Thanks for clearing the confusion! DAT series it is, then!
