My cousin is doing prepharmacy he is wondering what biology class is consider "general biology II"

I took zoology, but what else could consider General biology II.

any help?

This is a question that should be asked to the schools that your cousin is applying to, as each school has different policies concerning applicable classes. This question should not be answered in this forum.

In my state, that class is called Biology II. If you want to take anything different, then you need to check with the individual school. I did not take Biology II. I took invertebrate zoology, vertebrate zoology, botany, ecology and genetics which are all covered somewhat in bio II.

I know what you mean, my school doesn't have a "biology II" class either. Anyway, I just called the different schools that I was applying to and they told me Microbiology, cell biology, zoology, botany....ummm that's all I think of right now...but, those classes could be considered biology II. Your cousin's best bet is to call the schools though to be sure.

You could always look up the school catalog for Biology majors and see what general biology series they have to take. That's the one pharmacy schools want.

I took zoology and others took botany. I did that after checking that zoology was acceptable with the schools I was applying to. Generally, it's lower-division biology courses for majors (besides A&P which is already required by many schools) that count as Biology II if your pre-req school doesn't have it.

As T-Boy said, check with your favorite pharm schools for verification.

Most of the schools I've applied to have articulation tables so you can see which classes at your school would be required. If there's not an articulation table, calling the school would be the best way to find out what class they're looking for. Have a couple of classes in mind when you call so they know you've looked into it.

My undergrad does not have a General Biology 1 and 2, in the traditional sense. They have Biology 100 and Biology 101, and you can them in any order. Those classes are what is recommended for General Biology credit.
