I got offered to be Secretary or Campus Liaison for a club next year....can't decide which one to take. Secretary has more responsibilities, but I worry about the time commitment plus it doesn't seem to be a great leadership role since it's mostly just taking meeting minutes and sending out task reminders for officers. But Campus Liaison doesn't seem to be heavily involved either. (I'm not even sure what responsibilities I'd have. Some coordination for events?)
I guess, which role shows more leadership? Thoughts? (I know I'm probably overthinking this but please help me decide!)
Whichever allows you to be involved and keep the highest GPA.
I highly advocate for this. Find out the duties for each position and choose the one that is less annoying. These positions can become very annoying with a bunch of menial tasks that will cut away at your studying time. Also make sure you like your fellow eboard members. A toxic eboard can bee annoying.
And these kind of leadership positions are, for the most part, not that impressive to ancadcom
It term of time vs impact yes. Of course showing leadership in some altruistic function would be good, doing so in a clinical spot is the best such as crew chief on volunteer ambulance squad.
Not really. I joined most of our student orgs because i likes getting a free meal at a meeting once or twice a weekis it still important when you start med school?
