We know how the vet schools are ranked, and the rankings dont mean much because there arent that many DVM programs & they are all great in so many ways.

Without considering cost, which is your favorite & Why?

I feel like this question is kinda impossible to answer because you can't attend all the schools. You may think you know about a program but without being fully immersed in it, how can you know if it's your favorite?

Maybe you should search the Dream School thread.. Or the Pros/Cons thread.. They will give you some insight on schools and why people want to go where .

Yeah, what Lissa said. Of course my favorite vet school is the one I'm going to and will grant me a DVM. Pretty sure that would be my answer no matter where I went. Because I really have no clue what it's like to get my DVM from all the other schools.

Rankings are crap... But i would take that over a popularity poll on SDN any day 😛

How can an SDN mod say such a thing?

Every comment on SDN is precious and more valuable than anything anyone else has to say. especially when the others saying it are the adcoms, VMCAS, people who have actually done what we speculate about etc.

And if I said it, then it is especially correct.

Personally I still think the HVM is my favorite (Hawaii School of Veterinary Medicine) and I would still transfer there if I got in. Even if I was a 4th year minutes from graduation. 😛

Well there we have it, we have a winner! Hawaii school of vet med it is!!!

I agree, it's like the only school that allows you to track and specialize in sea turtle medicine.

I wonder how many rookie pre vetties google HVM ....

Sea turtle medicine?! Well forget this, I'ma take a year off instead and apply there for class of 2018. I'll become a sea turtle surgeon and make bank 😎

I heard HVM is a great school especially for sea turtle medicine. That said, the program as I understand it is definitely lacking in hands on time with jellyfish.

might not be hawaii, but i get to play with and perform research on the leatherback turtles next weekend as they come to nest on the island. can i be a sea turtle vet too?? 😀

Only if you're prepared to have your other vet friends be really jealous of your starting seven figure salary.
