which essay to use???

I read the posts on the Standford Secondary thread, and it seems that they're only interested in research. So, for their "diversity" essay prompt (which I am not sure is asking "how can you contribute to our student diversity" or "what diversity have you faced in your life"), should I use an essay on how I've moved around a lot, which has led to the development of skills in personal interaction (good for patient-physician relationships but useless for research) or one on how I'm a chemistry major who has worked extensively in 2 research labs? Which one seems to fit better with the essay prompt???? THANKS GUYS!
