Our pharmacology course is starting from this semester (summer) and I'm looking for some good resources like flashcards that might make it easier to learn all the drug names. I will be using Lippincotts Pharmacology as my main text but I'm not sure if I should supplement my study with flashcards. If so, I did find out a few sets by various publishers but I'm not sure which ones are good among these:

Pharm Flash! by Valerie I. Leek
http://www.amazon.com/Pharm-Phlash-Pharmacology-Flash-Cards/dp/0803618824/ref=pd_sim_b_80

PharMnemonics (I was also wondering if ImmunoMnemonics is good)
http://www.amazon.com/Illustrated-P...s-PharMnemonics/dp/1595411011/ref=pd_sim_b_22

Illustrated Pharmacology Memory Cards: Drug Name Mnemonics
http://www.amazon.com/Illustrated-Pharmacology-Memory-Cards-Mnemonics/dp/1595411054/ref=pd_sim_b_21

Lange's Pharmacology Flash Cards
http://www.amazon.com/Lange-Flash-Cards-Pharmacology-Suzanne/dp/0071453652/ref=pd_sim_b_17

so any suggestions? opinions? past experiences with any of these materials??

I have one other question for Pathology - Are the Goljan audio lectures any different from the RR review? Do you think it's a better idea to use them together? Or is it even worth getting the audio lectures?

I got them and they're good, but they're not nearly comprehensive enough for class study. In class they throw far more drug names at you (without even explaining most of them which is rather annoying)

I second Lange. Borrow it from a friend who has already taken Step 1.

Good luck!

why not make your own...all you need to include is what five...things Class, MOA, AE, Drug-Drug interactions, pharmacokinetics...Just get the bigger cards...Or do what I do, get a ruler and computer paper and make charts...considering Pharm is route memorization anyway it's the best for the morning of the exam...be able to quickly scan through the prototypes and what not...Of course the key is to be proactive enough to parcel out the building of the chart/flash cards to a literally like 3 drugs a day...

I'm going with Lange for step 1. As far as content goes, I've heard Lange and Lippincott are the best. However, Lange gives you clinical vignettes on one side and then uses, MOA, etc on the opposite side. Lippincott doesn't have those scenarios but they do have the chemical structure, which in most cases, is completely irrelevant.
