I have everything ready to apply and hoping to do so right away. With the absence of grade replacement, my sGPA plummeted a bit. It is now a 3.11. After my 3 science classes this summer, It will go up to a 3.23. MCAT 503. My cGPA is a 3.6. I am a non-science major with less than 60 science credits, hence the big impact that my summer courses will have.

Is it more important to apply early and then update my grades later? Or should I wait to apply until late July?

Also, I have heard something about applying to a random school so that your app can be verified, and then you can apply after you get your grades and not have to wait a long time for your app to be verified. Does this apply to my situation?

Thanks for any advice you can give me. @Goro , if possible!

The do cycle is longer and so getting your app in early is not as important as when applying to MD schools.

It is a good idea to apply to a throwaway school to get verified in either case

If you choose to apply now to 1 school and then apply to the others after you have your grades, just keep in mind that you will have to send your new transcript to each school individually, since the first academic update isn't until September. I know the transcript service my university uses is about $10 per school you send it to. I think it's worth it because you don't want to wait to submit until late July, and then you won't be verified until late August.

Can you explain this to me a little more? I know grade update is in September - so would they accept a new transcript if I just send it to them individually? Is there anything else I have to do to let them know I am applying with updated grades?

I think when you officially submit there's a place where you can list courses in progress. I would put anything you're gonna be taking and updating schools with there.

So you think it is best for me to wait to apply to my real school list?
