Derm may give you some longitudinal experiences. Urgent care more variety (sports injuries and infections for the most part but can vary by demographics of the community) but generally episodic.

I would not say that one is better than the other.

Worked at an urgent care for 3 years prior to acceptance and the experience was awesome. We were taking histories, collecting vitals, and drawing labs. I know its not the typical "scribe" job but the experience has helped me through this first semester especially now that were doing clinical skills. The variety of things seen and the varying patient population was great patient exposure and made talking to patients like second nature.
 
You can't do much as an MA. You just need to show you like working in a clinical setting and are good with patients. With urgent care, you get varied exposure, but most common stuff you see is UTIs.
