PCAT
Verbal 82
Bio 91
Reading 51 😎
Qaunt. 88
Chem 97
Composite 92

Cumulative GPA: 3.61
Graduating in Dec. with major in Chemistry and minor in Bio.

Some of the extracurriculars...
Volunteering at the pharmacy at a local hospital: 150+ hrs
Vice-President of the Pre-Pharmacy Club for the past year and president for the upcoming year

No working experience in the States
Teaching experience and internship experience at a pharmaceutical company outside of the US
Teaching experience at the University of Illinois
Medical mission trip in South America

Three LORs from a Chemistry professor, supervisor of that teaching program, and a coordinator of the volunteer program at the hospital

I'm an international student and have always aspired to be a pharmacist throughout my undergrad years. However, I'm having hard time picking out schools and would really appreciate any advice on this matter.
Do I have a good shot at any of the top schools? (I know I'm applying to UIC (Illinois at Chicago) because I go to UIUC.)
Will my reading score hinder me from getting into one of the better schools?
I really tried to get a job as a pharm. tech but never had a luck. Will I be severely disadvantaged because of that?

Thank you in advance!!

Make sure to check with each school to see if they accept international applicants- some do not. http://www.pharmcas.org/collegesschools/AAGResidencynonUST.htm second column

I don't think you'll be severely disadvantaged by not being a Pharm. Tech. I have seen/heard countless stories of people getting in with little to no experience. I really don't know foreign schools that well, so as long as yours is pretty decent, you should be competitive at UofI (IMO). As for applying to other schools, I would think you have a good shot at pretty much every other school in Illinois/Chicago area.

Your scores are great. Dont sweat the scores. If any school said "hmmm, not competitive" I would probably dismiss my initial desire to go there in the first place. And maryland has a decent number of international students.
