Which schools should I apply to?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Maple syrup helped them stick.. eventually they'll grow tired of arguing..

I'd put my money on bannie coming from the best school in canada (maybe the world) any day.

I give edrain a lot of credit for holding her ground and sticking up for herself in the face of bannie's stubborn grandiosity. It will do him good having someone stand up to him.

Cat you are supposed to be on my side. 👎 😛

Edrain, I'll let you win for now! 😛 :luck:

I think it was too late last night and I got too serious haha... 😎

And Yes, I do feel that American schools give you a fairer chance because they look at all the aspects of an applicant, and not rely strongly on cutoffs like some Canadian schools. Unfortunately, I cannot prove I am unbiased because I have no interviews at the two Canadian schools I applied to.

I am on your side, bannie! How could you doubt that I, your fan club and cheering section, want what's best for you? And I strongly feel that a tad of humility IS best for you (LOL). It's best for any male of the species.

Now I know what to write for my Duke essay if I have to reapply.

*My most humbling experience*
Humbled by my own fan club 😛 Awesome!
:luck:

I hope this thread provided some insight on the serious rivalries that occur with Canadian universities...😛 My school in particular is very heavy on the school spirit.

And SDN members have fan clubs? That's odd. I will start my own club within this forum for members with low GPA/high MCAT who commiserate on their bad decisions/slacker ways. 👍

I'm just popular. 😉

What can you do with Med Sci, oh I don't know...GET INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL? 😛 Our program has the highest med school matriculation rate. And it offers everyone in the program the chance to do significant undergrad research (with a very high chance of publication). Plus, the Ivey business program at Western is the best in Canada, and our grads get the same jobs in NYC and London as grads from Harvard and UPenn.

I'm from Toronto, have been at UofT thousands of times...it's such a disjointed school. There are random buildings everywhere, no flow, no university feel. I used to study at Robarts in high school and everyone there was always depressed about their life. Western has been voted the best looking campus (in terms of buildings and student body 😉 ) in Canada, as well as the best student experience because everyone loves it here and is happy about their life 😛 Sorry, I have A LOT of Western pride.

And please...never, ever mention Western in the same breath as Ryerson. That's...hurtful. 😱

I would repsectfully disagree with this statement. I'm pretty sure McMaster Health Sci does --> roughly 40-50% of grads go to med school

Damn, up until this point, I was perfectly content to just lurk on SDN but seeing as bannie himself directed me here... he's really asking for it...

WEEEESTERN! WEEESTERN! WEEEESSSSTERN!

😀

I think depending on the module of med sci you're in, the probability varies.
