I believe they had their decision made up before I had the interview. I interviewed on thursday, and called monday to discuss how to fax a letter from a DO to the school. The woman told me that a letter was sent out on Friday.... I was like thank You..... IN MY head I was nervous, less than 24 hours and their decision was made that is nuts. Anyways I'm in. What are your stats by the way?

non-trad. master's in a physical science, 5+ years as an academic scientist, 35S MCAT (13V, 11P, 11B), 2.9 BCMP (old from undergrad 10+ years ago), 3.1 overall. in free time, HIV test counselor for 3+ years, work at a free clinic, and work with injection drug users.

i'd thought they seemed to really like me when i was there, and the interview felt great, but was less than 10 min long...but in a good way. i would have though i'd have heard something by now. the other DO and MD prog's at which i interviewed took me right away. and none of them matter to me if i get into nycom....

argh!!!!

In my batch of interviews not all the acceptance letters were mailed out on the same day.

Also some people got lucky and interviewed 2 days before the adcom met and received acceptance letters within a week from their interview.

I live in queens and my acceptance letter was mailed out later than others and the mail seemed to get here pretty slow looking at the postmark.

Interview was well under 10 minutes.

Good luck.

If it bothers you that much call again. My interview was also only <10 minutes. You seem well rounded enough, of course only admissions can tell you that. Consider yourself lucky at all to have been accepted to other programs. I applied to all the DO schools, Right at the deadline, and to 3 MD caribbean schools as backups. Needless to say I only had one DO interview, NYCOM, and got in, and also got into the MD in the caribbean. According to most posts, if you don't hear anything after 5 weeks of interview call. What is the worst that happens, you have been accepted to others.

i know, and i am lucky to have gotten a few acceptances. and i have a few interview invites left. thing is, i'm poor, and work full time. i didn't get to visit schools before applying, i only see them when i interview, and the ones i know i'm in to already really didn't work for me when i was there seeing them/being there. and nycom did. and i don't have enough cash left for too many more trips to interview, nor for multiple non-refundable holds, one of which i'd have to give by the end of this week to hold my place somewhere i'm not thrilled at all about (turned off, in fact).

i mean, i've been really good karma'd about it, and i don't hold seats i know i won't take because i know that there are people who would love the saets for whom those schools will be a good fit. and i won't go somewhere that i know will make me miserable. i'll just reapply next year. but..but...but...sigh.

bah!

anyway, yeah. thanks for the info.
