You will not be considered an early applicant at Case. Case starts their interview in mid August and they usually have a backlog of applicants waiting for interview (usually 2.5 months backlog if you receive a interview letter in end of Aug- early Sept). When you submit your application and send it to the school, it will usually take AADSAS about 1 month for the whole proces, so it will be about mid Sept before Case gets your info. I will predict that by the time you get the interview letter and schedule an interview the earliest dates they will have will be in early to mid December. To note, they will start interviews for alternate list in February so if your stats are not what they like, they might just give you an interview for the alternate list instead.

I kind of figured that...although I called Dalsky today, talked to him for quite a while actually, and he said they probably will have to push back interviews because of the AADSAS ordeal...he said if my stuff is there by Oct. 1 I should be good to go...because of this being a somewhat recent decision I didn't have time to go through committee, but my pre-health guy is making an exception and doing it late..Dalsky said thats unheard of and thats really awesome, and I should send him a note explaining that so he can use it in the admissions committee for explaining why I dont' have a committee letter yet..is this good he kind of knows who I am? or do I just look like a problem now?

oh definitely...thanks so much! along those same lines, once you get into the interview does case kind of consider all things equal at that point, or is it still just a small portion of your overall impression on them (meaning gpa and dat are still a big deal)? and what kind of male/female ratio do they have there? is it 50/50?

You should ask Mr. Dalsky about this. Nobody on SDN knows

In our class '08, there are 21-22 females out of 70. I forgot the exact number. Same ratio in other upper classes also.

There is a farm that belongs to Case somewhere off Mayfield Rd if you like to grill 🙂 and have a few beers. There is also Jillians (spelled right?) sports bar that about 5 minutes from Case located on Cedar. It's a very nice place with games, bar and excellent kitchen. We might also hit west 6th if you feel like night lounge club atmosphere.

Any other suggestions?

I like the grilling out idea myself. But I would be open to the sports bar as well. Saturday works the best for me.

i havent gotten my id card yet as well. serge has informed me that if you are planning on parking your car on campus, you have to have bought a permit before the first day of orientation. also, so far, i know that me, and maemie (grinningrice) and serge (dds2be) are planning the get together for sunday. most likely serge will know where to get a good bite =) so if you havent yet responded and still wanna do dinner say sunday night. then drop a line.

yah, i got my id card yesterday - man was it hot out.. not a good day to be taking a id card photo.. heh! did you get the guy that talks SUPER fast? if you're at the triangle, i'm guess that you are pretty satisfied with how close you are to the dental school though.. you wouldn't need parking on campus, would you?

Thought I would bump up this page. Congrats for those who have gotten into Case, and for those who are looking for housing, I may have the right option for you. I am a first year dental student living at Delta Sigma Delta, the dental fraternity on campus. Its about a 7 minute walk from the dental school, all utlities included(electric, water, gas), free high speed internet, free cable(with free ondemand), and free laundry. Also free parking! There have been a new update on the policy for Delt house residence....We will not be able to supply everyone with completely furnished rooms. Most of the rooms have a bed available but only a couple have desk or chair. At the current time, we may not be able to supply these additional amenities. The rent is still $300, all inclusive - gas, water, electric, laundary, cable and internet. All other stuff (bed, desk, cabinet)are just luxury items that we may be able to provide (if available) to some of the rooms. However, I would encourage anyone that would be able to bring their bed here to do so, so that we would be able to provide our beds to anyone who can't bring a bed here.

Please PM me or e-mail Josh if you would be able to bring our own bed. Also, if you want to know what items we have currently in your room so I you can figure out what you will need, please contact us as well.
