Who to Ask for recommendation

I am entering my final year of med school. I took a year off so I feel like all the docs I did my rotations with wouldn't remember me at all!!!
I feel really weird asking them 🙁

Does anybody else who had taken a year off have the same problem, how do you go about it?

Most of your recs are going to be from 4th year doctors anyways. And why did you take a year off, if it was for research you should have a great one from there.

Ask them in person with your CV in hand and remind them of the specific cases with which you were involved during the rotations and how you enjoyed the overall experience.
