You definitely save a lot of money by coming to a state school. UMDNJ is a school where anyone can get in-state status from the get go. The 4-year cost of attendance, not including living costs, currently stands at ~$136k.
UMDNJ is also a very clinically strong school, which means you'll get a more than the usual amount of experience in doing procedures in clinic (extraordinary amount of requirements in order to graduate). For this reason, the graduates tend to be very well regarded by residency programs, at least in the Northeast.
We're also fairly close to NYC, and if you don't like Newark (and who doesn't?), you can always commute from surrounding suburbs which are nice.
The new lecture rooms and new clinics are also nice.
And we don't (at least until now) have any problems in getting chairs or patients at the clinic.
