Why do I feel like my transcript from undergrad is kind of "blah"

I attached a crude spreadsheet of my undergrad career at UMass Amherst. Looking back at it, hindsight is always 20/20. If I could go back, I wouldn't have taken nearly as many "filler" classes like astro 100 and music 100. I also wouldn't have taken molecular and cellular 2 pass/fail, considering I improved to a B in it from a B- in the first one. There's nothing I can do about it now I suppose.

My GPAs are decent, and the pre-reqs are there, but I feel like there's no wow factor. I'm taking the DAT this spring/summer, I've been doing a good amount of shadowing, I have 2 years of professional work experience, and some decent volunteer work. I'm also currently taking Medical Biochemistry and am hoping I'll get an A in it.

Thoughts?

Edit: in the spreadsheet, I forgot to indicate that chem 111 and 112 included the labs, minor oversight.

Your GPA is fine stop complaining over nothing.

I know my GPA itself is okay, but I was more worried about an adcom thinking my GPA was "good because of easier filler classes".

I didn't do as well in the upper level bio classes as I did in the pre-reqs.

I'm not trying to complain about nothing, I'm just scrutinizing every detail of my application, just like everyone else, heh.

the average GPA of most admitted applicants is around a 3.4 to 3.5. No one cares about the filler classes, your BCP is 3.6 as you indicated, which is more than an average students.

Theres a difference between scrutinizing and complaining for the wrong reasons. a 3.6 is a 3.6 is a 3.6. Especially when its in the BCP range. You'll be fine. You should focus on doing well on the DAT since your GPA is already set in stone.

Your GPA is just fine, and it's consistent at that. No C's or red flags to be found. I was the kind of person who took a good amount of non-science classes, between attending a liberal arts school and have two non-science majors. In retrospect, I'm happy I went that way. I feel that taking nothing but science classes in undergraduate (or extremely high concentration on them) would burn me out before dental school.

Right. I actually lucked out a little bit. When I wasn't a bio major, I was wandering around flip flopping between majors. At one point I was a pre-english major (yuck), but in doing so took some English classes. Low and behold, a lot of schools require English classes that are reading and writing intensive. So I inadvertently fulfilled those requirements!

I felt that way too and got 5 acceptances. Funny how that works!

is the GPA calculated using the approach adcom would use ((Quality point))/total credit)? If not, maybe it would be higher. =) Regardless, your GPA looks great!!
