There are 3 sides to an argument, my side, your side, and the right side.
Is AA fair? I don't care. It's pointless to argue that it's not fair that someone with lower stats is accepted over someone with higher stats because of AA. Why? Because all that it matters is the person entering that medical school, makes it through and graduates to become one hell of a doctor.
And the crying about the higher stat person not getting in cuz of AA....get over it. If the high stat person was meant to be a doctor then he'll get interviews elsewhere.
And no, I am not a URM. Yes, I have been accepted to several schools already both law as well as med and yes, I've also been rejected by several schools while friends of mines with lower stats are getting interviewed. I don't attribute it to AA, I attribute it to perhaps the fact there was something the school didn't like about me.
Life is never fair....it's not fair for babies to be born with HIV, it's not fair for people to be handicapped by drunken drivers....but life goes on because we're able to work with what we're given.
All this 'fighting' has really gotta chill cuz we're all going to be colleagues one day.
