Why does it take soooooooo long?

So I submitted my AACOMAS on 6/23/08. My transcripts were received by AACOMAS in early June, and my MCAT scores are in. I still have not been verified, and I have not received any secondaries from the schools I applied to (NYCOM, UMDNJ, PCOM).

Should I be worried at this point?

If it makes you feel better I had all my transcripts in by mid May and submitted 6/2 and am just now getting verified.

DON'T WORRY!!!! You are still an early bird in the game. It takes me them forever because of all the things they have to check and the thousands of other kids that are also submitting applications. You should NOT be worried at all. Just be patient and no offense, but this isn't the worst of it. Wait until you submit secondaries and check your email 10 times an hour to see if you've been granted an interview request. The process sucks but it'll be worth it in the end when you get that first acceptance. Hang in there!

haha i know. its just that i submitted my amcas around the same time, and i'm already sending out secondaries for some MD schools. i guess i'm comparing AMCAS to AACOMAS, and it appears AACOMAS is much slower 👎.

i just wish i could be sending out pcom/umdnj-som secondaries with my other secondaries, because i really want to go to those schools (over some of the MD schools im applying to)

have you checked out the "secondaries" thread? i think pcom and umdnj have secondaries online that you can download and start working on...

yea i know..but i've been working on other secondaries.

its just good to know that my primaries are at least complete for DO schools, you know?

don't worry, like firefly said, you're still early! You won't get any secondaries until you've been verified, and there should be a section on the AACOMAS application that shows when the primary was sent to the schools.

Also, NYCOM doesn't send out a secondary unless you're invited for an inverview. But if you want to get started on your PCOM secondary, this is it: http://www.pcom.edu/Admissions/PA_Supp_App.pdf

yea I better just start working on those so I can turn them around the same day that I receive them.

I'm also applying to LECOM, CCOM and UNECOM but haven't added them to my AACOMAS as of yet.

haha no. i heard once you're verified, if you add a school, it takes them a day or two max for the schools to receive your app.

besides i have a whole little reason behind not adding those schools at the same time as the others. its a little theory of mine, but i don't want to go into all that.

and i sold some of my EK books already...mad excited to sell the rest

actually my theory is one of the DO schools shot kennedy, and i think i know which one it is..

i'm just waiting to apply to that school at the absolute latest time possible.
