If medical schools were completely to profit off students then I'm not sure why they aren't charging $200K per year. If only one medical school did it they could easily fill a class of 250. I'm pretty sure 5-10% of my class has parents worth close to 8 figures they might even send their kids there if they have other acceptances. Don't forget the whole "money doesn't matter I'll do ANYTHING I just want to help people" crowd, people who just don't have any financial sense yet, and people who couldn't get in anywhere else but could 75% make it through medical school....I actually really hope there is regulation against this. I don't think all medical schools want to "rip off" students though. A lot of have it pretty good.
