why every institution wants to rip off students?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If medical schools were completely to profit off students then I'm not sure why they aren't charging $200K per year. If only one medical school did it they could easily fill a class of 250. I'm pretty sure 5-10% of my class has parents worth close to 8 figures they might even send their kids there if they have other acceptances. Don't forget the whole "money doesn't matter I'll do ANYTHING I just want to help people" crowd, people who just don't have any financial sense yet, and people who couldn't get in anywhere else but could 75% make it through medical school....I actually really hope there is regulation against this. I don't think all medical schools want to "rip off" students though. A lot of have it pretty good.
