I know a lot of people go to Dental School hoping to specialize in Orthodontics, but if you're going to Dental School with hopes of being an overall general dentist perhaps with some other specialty, I'm just wondering what led you to decide this career path? Was it influence from parents? Was it just really wanting to become a dentist?
I'm overall very impressed with the amount of ambition I see on this board and I just wanted to understand how you all decided on general dentistry?
Or even, how did you all find the inspiration to want to go to Dental School? I mean, putting yourself through all of these intense classes, and eventual many years of schooling.
I know that Orthodontics is probably one of the hardest programs to get into in Dental School and I'm just not sure if becoming a General Dentist with some other specialities is for me just watching my dad. So I just wanted to hear some opinions from this board since you all are so helpful! Thanks once again in reading this post and I look forward to hearing all of your opinions and comments!
