Why is SDN has sensor the word Alt. Rius (“AltRius”)? *edited

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
What’s stealth advertising?

There is a separate forum for advertisements where prep companies can place their ads and sales there: For Sale and Advertisements

There are also specific exhibition forums for company-specific content, which companies can get by sponsoring SDN: Exhibition Forums | Student Doctor Network

Everywhere else, SDN = free resources and advertising isn't allowed. However, the company in question apparently decided to be subtle by offering "free" resources in the MCAT forums which is basically hidden (or stealth) advertising. They decided to continue this behavior despite being repeatedly warned over months that it's against the TOS. Other members have reported that they are also notorious for promoting misinformation and scare tactics to make the MCAT seem to be a lot scarier than it is and using that to redirect worried premeds to their resources.

This is at least my rough understanding of the matter from what I read.

Ah yeah. That’s shady.

An example of stealth advertising would be if a frequent poster with a strong background in admissions process would start mentioning his advising and consulting business in the middle of a reply, emphasizing his work with nontraditionals, reapplicants, and reinvented applicants and who can be contacted via PM , in a shameless attempt to drum up business. What some people will do!

I literally laughed out loud. I'm on this website too much.
