Your post sure doesnt seem like a "typo" to me. so you actually meant to say your have a 2.8 GPA and you plan to get a 4.0 the next two years and get a 38s on your mcat. yeah ok.
 
It's pretty much the same way for step 1 except it is even more important to admissions than the mcat.

And luck plays just a role as skill. If you get to a really hard question you often narrow it down to 2 likely answers. Its a 50/50 chance at this point. This happens to all of us on many MCAT questions. Someone who got lucky might guess right on 3 of these 50/50 chances, now 'lo and behold he has a 36 while the guy next to him who guessed wrong has a 34. This isn't that likely, but it happens I'm sure. Meanwhile the dedication of someone with a 3.6 GPA is very far apart from someone with a 3.4 GPA.

I swear, nothing changes, I have been lurking and checking this forum since 2005 and that is the one constant theme that people seem to post. Have fun with that by the way.

Perhaps this is the greatest thing about the MCAT. After you have taken it you can look at everyone that hasn't taken it and laugh at everyone with horribly unrealistic expectations

I know right? I saw an hSDN post once about a high school kid's life plan, which I believe included a 36+ MCAT, Hopkins, and "at least" a 250 on step 1. The power of positive thinking, I guess...?

In other news, I'm now craving a sandwich. I wonder why. Bleargh or Janieve, would you make me one? With super crusty bread? I'm in med school, so I guess I dont have to make my own sandwiches anymore. Med students are THAT cool.

This thread has a little of everything: drama, anger, sadness, frustration, laughter. Heck, it even has one of the most detailed explanations of Inception I've seen on the net. I LOVE IT.

Honestly, though, I do feel mildly bad that everyone's jumping on you.
I would have played the devil's advocate and tried to defend a little of what you were saying, but I actually forgot what the main post was about.

On a happier note, I'm now convinced to go watch Inception for a third time. Penn State + Duke secondaries can wait. PEACE.
