Why would a medschool send my LOR writer a thankyou note?

One of the letter writers in my school packet said they received a thankyou letter from a medschool for writing a letter? Why would the medschools send out thankyou letters, seems like a waste of time.

No clue but it sounds like it'd be a good thing rather than bad since they singled out your app and your LOR writer

Probably an indirect way for the school to verify the authenticity of your LOR.
