Hi all, I'm studying about depth perception and Panum's fusional area and am faced with a question as to why panum's area would be asymmetrical (for crossed and uncrossed disparities) or symmetrical for different individuals?
Can anyone help me out please? Thanks!!! 🙂

Maybe due to an existing phoria that cannot be compensated for by the fusional reserve and thus there is no correspondence in the visual axes.

Also it maybe due to eccentric fixation which occured due to an existing amblyopia-stabismus.
