will a deans letter of recomendation do instead of an mspe?

hi!
i am an img....and like most img's am having a great deal of trouble convincing my medical school to issue an mspe in accordance with the guide to the preperation of an mspe given on the ERAS site, but they r willing to issue an deans letter with my class ranks and extracurricular activities mentioned on it.
should i press for an mspe with the graphs and all, or shud i make do with a dean's letter?
thanks! how important is this mspe anyway?

i would definaltely go with MSPE. i mean if you are img, you don't want to give them any reasons to put list you lower, just because you didn't fill out the ap the way they wanted. ideally get something as close to the MSPE as possible. the keys are your board scores, rank, your clerkship evaluations and what the dean thinks about you (dean's hype)...good luck.

but the problem is that my medschool does not maintain the record of the evaluation of individaul clerkships of the students. all they maintain is the list of top three students in each subject....thats it!
