I'm applying to many schools that have a 2 sci and 1 non sci letter of recommendation requirement.
My sciences are coming from biology professors most likely so I'm covered there.
However I am concerned about my non-sci letter of recommendation. I am getting it from my Metaphysics professor. His class talks a lot about the connection between science and philosophy/religion. Sometimes when he asked about general science theories and information I was able to offer my insight and answer a lot of his questions because I am a biology major (laws of thermodynamics and other things). I even wrote this essay about how math was a great way to see the world (something to do with what Pythagorus argued). I'm sure he will talk about my critical thinking skills but I'm concerned he will talk about my science competencies and it will be counted as a "science LOR."
I just don't want to be rejected from schools that have that 2 or 1 science, and 1 non sci letter of rec requirement because they think I submitted 3 sci LORS.
Obv if a school asks for 2 science letters only and a person only submits 1 sci and 1 non sci, it could be grounds for rejection for not meeting the requirements.
I have no idea what the professor will say in his letter of rec but if he does talk about my science competencies, will schools still count the letter from the Metaphysics professor as a non-science letter of recommendation?
