Hi everyone! I'm wondering if an employer such as a hospital will pay for your doctorate?

Also, I've heard that some hospitals strongly prefer you have a doctorate before working for them. How common is this?

Thank you so much for all of your help! This forum has been wonderful :)

Idk about any employers paying for an OTD.

Have not seen anyone with an OTD in clinic, snf or hospital.

About 1/2 of OTs I have worked with still have the bachelors in OT.

Employers dont care about what degree you have.

Academics would want something doctorate level.

I believe the military requires an OTD, hence why Baylor has that program to get an OTD if you're already a practitioner. Other than that...I don't know of anywhere else that requires it.
