I was diagnosed yesterday with ADHD. Everything in my life is beginning to click on why it has been the way it has, including my low GPA (3.18). I don't have bad grades, just a bunch of Bs in my transcript that lower it more and more each semester. At this point I am shooting for a high DAT score to give me a chance of getting into a dental school. I am trying to submit my application to take the DAT and I came across the question that asks if i need accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Looking more into the form they provide it does include ADHD.... Has anyone ever requested this accommodation? If so, did they allow longer testing time? Or what does it do exactly for you when you take the DAT? Did you tell the dental schools? Do they just throw your application into the trash can while trying to narrow down applicants?

You won’t be hurt in the application process, schools will by law provide accommodations to you. Dental school is tough, there are many difficult tests with lots of information that you have to memorize and understand to be able to apply, you may find yourself running low on sleep on more than one testing occasion, imagine not having the testing accommodation when you are stretched thin.
